Creating a Solution
SAV, short for Savvy, is an outfit generator app that creates stylish combinations from your own closet! With the help of AI, SAV organizes your wardrobe and lets you explore outfit options — no need to tear apart your closet. As someone who’s all too familiar with emptying out my entire wardrobe just to find an outfit, I wanted to create a solution that makes fashion easier and more fun for others like me.

For SAV, I focused on designing a seamless way to store your closet in your pocket. I wanted the design to be bold yet simple—allowing users to navigate effortlessly while enjoying the experience. SAV is made for those who struggle with styling their own outfits.
Cluelessly Bold
Colors & Type
Inspired by brutalist typography, I chose the bold typeface ‘Owners’ to make a statement—clear, functional, and effortlessly stylish. Just like great fashion, SAV’s design is both eye-catching and practical, allowing users to explore their style with ease. This approach extends to the app’s buttons and icons, ensuring a clean and intuitive experience. The color palette, influenced by Tumblr and Clueless, speaks to anyone who’s ever wished Cher’s outfit picker was real in 1995.

Button Refinement
Working within a brutalist theme while maintaining a clear UI experience was a bit of a challenge. However, after a few iterations, I refined the design to create clean, bold buttons and CTAs that align with the overall aesthetic.

Designing with Users in Mind
The first step in designing an application is understanding the flow. How will a user experience your app? Where will each page lead? From there, you lay out the barebones (low-fidelity frames) of how your app might look. After a few outfit changes (or high-fidelity iterations), you end up with a fabulous user interface paired with a great user experience.
